Is my donation tax-deductible?
Helm Legal Technologies operates as a litigation intelligence platform, not a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Donations are not tax-deductible at this time. We are exploring fiscal sponsorship options to enable tax-deductible giving in the future.
Where exactly does my money go?
100% of donations fund platform operations: PACER court record fees (35%), fraud detection infrastructure (30%), public database hosting (20%), and pro se support tools (15%). No salaries or overhead are deducted. See our /donate/transparency page for the full breakdown.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. If you are unsatisfied with your donation for any reason, contact us within 30 days for a full refund. No questions asked.
Is my donor information private?
Absolutely. Donor information is never sold, shared, or published. We do not display donor names or amounts publicly unless you explicitly opt in to recognition.
Can I donate by check or wire transfer?
Yes. For donations over $1,000, we accept check and wire transfer. Contact us at donations@helmlegal.net for instructions.
Do you accept cryptocurrency?
Not at this time. We are evaluating crypto donation options and will announce availability if added.
How do I verify my donation was received?
You will receive an email confirmation immediately after donating. For larger donations, we provide a receipt with our EIN and transaction ID for your records.
Can I earmark my donation for a specific case or feature?
Yes. When donating, you can specify a case track (e.g., Seakeeper, Ivankovich, BlueWater) or a feature (e.g., fraud radar expansion, pro se tools). We honor earmarks as long as they align with our mission.
